Christy Doran

Christy Doran is a renowned Irish-Swiss guitarist born in Dublin, Ireland, but he has spent most of his life in Lucerne, Switzerland. His musical journey began with exposure to Irish ballads through his father, a well-known ballad singer. Doran co-founded the influential Swiss band OM in the 1970s, which was pivotal in the Swiss free-jazz scene. He has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including Carla Bley, Albert Mangelsdorff, and Han Bennink. Doran is also known for his work with the band New Bag, which he founded in 1997, and for his extensive teaching career at the Lucerne Music School. His diverse musical influences and collaborations have made him a significant figure in the jazz world.

Throughout his career, Christy Doran has been involved in numerous projects and bands, showcasing his versatility as a guitarist.
