The Explosion

The Explosion was a punk rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, known for their high-energy sound and politically charged lyrics. Formed in the late 1990s, the band quickly gained a following in the underground scene with their debut full-length, Flash Flash Flash (2000), released on Jade Tree Records. Their style pulled from classic punk influences while bringing a modern edge, earning them comparisons to acts like The Clash and The Buzzcocks.

They later signed to a major label and released Black Tape in 2004 through Virgin Records, featuring the single "Here I Am," which received notable airplay and was featured in various video games and media. Despite their growing profile, the band remained true to their punk roots, both in sound and attitude. The Explosion disbanded in the mid-2000s but reunited briefly for select live shows in the 2010s, leaving behind a legacy as one of the more memorable bands in the early 2000s punk revival.
