Pomegranates

**Pomegranates** were a Cincinnati-based indie rock band known for their shimmering, psychedelic-tinged pop and playful energy. Formed in the late 2000s, the quartet—Isaac Karns (vocals/bass), Joey Cook (guitar/vocals), Jacob Merritt (drums), and later Dan Hughes (drums)—built a cult following with their whimsical lyrics, breezy hooks, and dynamic live shows. They dropped a string of charmingly offbeat releases like *Everybody, Come Outside!* (2009) and *One of Us* (2010), blending jangly guitars, kaleidoscopic melodies, and introspective storytelling. Tracks like “Heaven” and “Coriander” showcased their knack for balancing infectious indie rock with dreamy, experimental flourishes.

Though the band called it quits in 2013, their music continues to resonate, and they briefly reunited for a 2018 show, proving their lasting appeal. Recent remixes, like the *White Fawn* rework, hint at renewed interest in their catalog. Pomegranates’ legacy remains a sweet spot for fans of quirky, heartfelt indie rock that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
