American Aquarium

American Aquarium is an alternative country band originally formed in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2006. The band derives its name from a Wilco song, "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart," and has been led through a rotating cast of talented musicians by the steadfast singer-songwriter and frontman BJ Barham. The group's sound is a hearty mix of Americana, infused with elements of rock, folk, and alt-country, tinged with the gritty realism and emotional storytelling reminiscent of heartland rock.

Over the years, American Aquarium has undergone numerous lineup changes, with Barham serving as the linchpin for the group's creative output and direction.
