Lights of Vimana is an international atmospheric and progressive doom metal project formed by three veterans of the extreme doom scene: Riccardo Conforti (Void of Silence) on drums and synths, Jeremy Lewis (Mesmur, Pantheist) on guitars and bass, and Déhà (Slow, Cult of Erinyes) on vocals. Their debut album, *Neopolis*, released in June 2025 via Dusktone, showcases a deeply cinematic and textural sound that departs from their heavier roots to blend influences from Hans Zimmer, Porcupine Tree, and My Dying Bride. The album weaves immersive soundscapes of bleak dystopian science-fiction atmospheres, combining shimmering synth layers, expansive riffs, and Déhà’s emotive clean vocals, punctuated by occasional growls, to create a dynamic interplay of beauty and desolation.
*Neopolis* takes listeners on a journey through a haunting, vast, and cold dystopian world, invoking both collapse and transcendence with every track, including notable songs like "Remember Me" and "Nowhere." The band’s sound is described as a flicker of light in the ruins of tomorrow, offering a rich emotional and cinematic experience that stands out in the doom metal genre. Supporting vocals from Nicole Fiameni of Eurynome on two tracks add further depth to the album’s textured atmosphere. Lights of Vimana’s thoughtful fusion of atmospheric doom and progressive elements makes their music both immersive and stirring for fans of the genre.
