Beach Rats

Beach Rats are a New Jersey-based punk supergroup formed in 2020, blending old-school hardcore energy with catchy hooks. The band features a lineup of punk veterans: Ari Katz (Lifetime) on vocals, Bryan Kienlen (The Bouncing Souls) on bass, Pete Steinkopf (The Bouncing Souls) on guitar, and Brian Baker (Bad Religion, Minor Threat) shredding second guitar. Their sound is a gnarly tribute to ’80s skate punk and basement-show chaos, with lyrics celebrating survival, late-night mischief, and never quite growing up. They dropped their debut EP *Rat Beat* in 2022 via Epitaph Records, followed by rowdy tracks like “Wasted Time” and “Lonely For The Night” that sound like a middle finger to adulthood.
