Womack & Womack

Womack & Womack was a musical duo composed of husband and wife Cecil Womack and Linda Womack. Emerging from a strong musical lineage, Cecil was the younger brother of the legendary soul singer Bobby Womack, and Linda was the daughter of Sam Cooke. Together, they crafted a sound that fused soul, R&B, and elements of world music, creating a unique and evocative style that resonated with audiences around the globe.

The duo's career took flight with their debut album "Love Wars" in 1983, which established them as a force within the music industry. Their soulful harmonies and poignant songwriting shone through hits like the title track "Love Wars" and "Baby I'm Scared of You." Throughout the '80s and into the '90s, Womack & Womack continued to innovate and explore musical themes and narratives, particularly with albums such as "Conscience" in 1988, which featured the smash single "Teardrops." This track not only became a staple of the era's dancefloors but also secured their international success. As they evolved, so did their identity, embracing the name "The House of Zekkariyas" as a reflection of their spiritual and artistic transformation. Their commitment to exploring profound themes of love, identity, and human connection left a lasting imprint on the landscape of soul and pop music.
