Matthew Newlin

Matthew Newlin is an acclaimed American lyric tenor known for his versatility and expressive stage presence. Since joining the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble in 2013, he has tackled a wide range of leading roles including Tamino in *Die Zauberflöte*, Don José in *Carmen*, Alfredo in *La Traviata*, and Count Almaviva in *The Barber of Seville*. His repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary music, and he has also made notable appearances in concert settings performing works such as Handel's *Solomon* and Beethoven’s *9th Symphony*.
