Geoff Mann

Geoff Mann was a British singer and artist best known for his work as the lead vocalist of the progressive rock band Twelfth Night in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Born in 1956, he was known for his distinctive voice and poetic lyrics that often explored themes of spirituality and social issues. After leaving Twelfth Night, Geoff pursued a solo career and formed the bands The Bond and later Eh! Geoff Mann Band, releasing several well-regarded albums including *I May Sing Grace* and *Loud Symbols*. Beyond music, Mann was also deeply involved in his faith, eventually becoming an ordained priest in the Church of England, intertwining his religious beliefs with his artistic expression. He passed away from cancer in 1993 at the age of 36, leaving behind a legacy cherished by progressive rock fans and the Christian music community alike.

There is also a New York City-born Geoff Mann (b. 1975), an accomplished composer, instrumentalist, and producer, recognized for his work composing for films, commercials, and various bands, including collaborations with notable artists like the Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra and others. This Geoff Mann grew up in a musical family, trained in jazz performance and composition, and has an extensive portfolio of works outside the rock genre. However, the band and folk/progressive rock artist associated with the classic releases and history is the first Geoff Mann described above.
