Konstantin Eiges

**Konstantin Eiges** (1875–1950) was a Russian composer and pianist best known for his expressive piano works and art songs, which blend Romantic-era richness with hints of Russian folk influences. A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, Eiges spent much of his career composing intimate, lyrical pieces like his *Aquarelles* and *Romances*, often drawing inspiration from poetry and nature. Though less widely recognized than some of his contemporaries, his music earned admiration for its emotional depth, with legends like Sergei Rachmaninoff occasionally performing his works.

Recent releases, such as *Toccatine pour piano, Op. 24* and the compilation *Eiges: Piano Music*, highlight renewed interest in his delicate, introspective style. Beyond composing, Eiges also taught music and contributed to early 20th-century Russian musical life, leaving behind a catalog that piano enthusiasts continue to rediscover today.
