Alathur Brothers

The Alathur Brothers were one of the most celebrated vocal duos in the history of Carnatic music. Consisting of Srinivasa Iyer and Sivasubramania Iyer, the duo gained widespread acclaim during the mid-20th century for their impeccable coordination, intricate rhythmic disciplines, and mastery of complex compositions. They were disciples of Alathur Venkatesa Iyer and carried on his tradition, blending intellectual rigor with vibrant expressions, which appealed to both connoisseurs and casual listeners of South Indian classical music.
