Praying Mantis

Praying Mantis is a veteran British hard rock and melodic metal band that emerged as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement in the late 1970s. Founded by brothers Tino and Chris Troy, the band distinguished itself with its melodious guitar hooks and harmony-laden vocal styles, carving a unique niche within a genre often dominated by louder and heavier counterparts. Despite not achieving the colossal fame of some of their peers, Praying Mantis garnered a dedicated fanbase, which they've maintained over the years with their consistent quality and musicianship.

Consistently active since their formation, with a few lineup changes along the way, Praying Mantis has released a series of albums and singles that resonate with both the nostalgic sentiments of the NWOBHM era and the evolving tastes of heavy metal enthusiasts. Their most recent works, including "Katharsis" and the live cuts "Children of the Earth (Live)" and "Highway (Live)," continue to showcase their rich musicality and adaptability. The band's dedication to their craft is also evident in their captivating live performances, immortalized in releases such as "Live at Last." With each new release, Praying Mantis reaffirms their position as steadfast contributors to the metal genre, captivating audiences with their blend of melody and muscular riffage.
