The XCERTS

The XCERTS are a Scottish alternative rock band known for their emotive anthems, powerful melodies, and raw lyrical honesty. Formed in Aberdeen in 2001 by childhood friends Murray Macleod (lead vocals, guitar) and Jordan Smith (bass guitar), they later welcomed drummer Tom Heron into the fold to complete the lineup. The band's sound is reminiscent of the energetic pop-rock of the 90s, fused with the introspective indie-rock of the early 2000s, creating a unique blend that resonates with a wide spectrum of music lovers.

Over the years, The XCERTS have established themselves as a mainstay within the British rock scene, releasing several critically acclaimed albums and cultivating a dedicated fanbase with their heartfelt performances. Their discography showcases a band willing to evolve, from the raw edges of their debut album 'In the Cold Wind We Smile' to the expansive and mature sound in 'Hold on to Your Heart'. With their more recent releases, such as 'Wildheart Dreaming' and 'You Mean Everything', The XCERTS continue to demonstrate their deftness in crafting infectious hooks, while 'So No One Told You Life Was Gonna Be This Way' offers a tongue-in-cheek nod to lingering nostalgia. The band's ability to balance rock vigor with emotive balladry makes The XCERTs a beloved group whose music spans moments of ebullient highs and contemplative lows.
