Deraps

Deraps is a dynamic hard rock band known for their classic late 70's style and sound, blending energetic guitar work and powerful vocals. The band centers around Jacob Deraps, a Canadian-born guitarist and lead vocalist from St-Georges, Québec, and Josh Gallagher, an Australian drummer and backing vocalist. They initially connected through their Van Halen cover performances on YouTube, which earned them acclaim for capturing the spirit and energy of early Van Halen. Their self-produced debut album, released worldwide in 2022 through Metalville Records, received rave reviews from respected outlets like Classic Rock Magazine (UK) and Burrn! (Japan). Deraps was even voted the “Best New Band of 2022” by Burrn! readers, and their track "My Side of Town" made it to Classic Rock’s Ultimate Playlist of 2022.

The band embraces the raw, high-energy hard rock vibe of the late 70s and early 80s, often drawing comparisons to Van Halen with their catchy riffs, vibrant harmonies, and blistering guitar solos. Jacob Deraps, who grew up immersed in music thanks to his musician parents, channels influences from rock giants like AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, and Van Halen. Deraps has toured extensively, opening for notable acts such as Blue Oyster Cult, Loverboy, Foreigner, Tom Cochrane, and Ann Wilson.
