Atoms For Peace

Atoms For Peace is a supergroup formed in 2009 that wields a unique blend of experimental rock, electronic, and world music influences. The genesis of the group was during a tour for Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's solo album, "The Eraser." The ensemble included a host of seasoned musicians: Radiohead's Thom Yorke as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and pianist; Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea; longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich on guitars, keyboards, and backing vocals; drummer Joey Waronker, known for his work with Beck and R.E.M; and Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco, known for his contributions to Forro in the Dark and his work with David Byrne.

The band officially debuted under the name Atoms For Peace in 2010 at the Coachella Festival and embarked on a short American tour, followed by European dates. Known for their atmospheric and electrifying live performances, Atoms For Peace released their first and so far only album, "AMOK," in February 2013. Despite their limited discography, the band has delivered a potent mix of personal lyrics and innovative soundscapes, dealing with complex emotional and societal themes. Singles from "AMOK" like "Default" and "Judge Jury and Executioner" provide a snapshot of the band's ability to balance electronica with organic instrumentation, resonating with fans of the members' respective main projects while crafting an identity distinctly their own.
