International Observer

**International Observer** is the dub-heavy solo project of Tom Bailey, best known as the frontman of 1980s synth-pop icons Thompson Twins. After stepping away from the spotlight post-Thompsons, Bailey reinvented himself in the late '90s as a low-key master of atmospheric, globally infused electronica, blending hypnotic basslines, trippy effects, and samples that nod to his travels. His recent releases—like the animal-themed *Bat*, *Mink*, and *Pangolin* EPs or the playful *Popcorn Slavery*—keep the vibe earthy and experimental, while his ongoing *Dungeons of Dub* series (including 2023’s *Free from the Dungeons of Dub*) proves he’s still a wizard of immersive, head-nodding soundscapes. It’s music for latenight chill sessions, where every track feels like a postcard from a psychedelic journey.
