**Procession** is a Chilean doom metal band formed in 2006 by guitarist and vocalist Felipe Plaza Kutzbach in Valparaíso, Chile. The band is known for blending epic doom metal with influences from classic heavy metal, featuring strong rhythms, soaring guitar leads, and charismatic vocals. After initially gaining traction with a demo and EP released in the late 2000s, Felipe eventually moved to Europe and solidified the lineup with musicians from Denmark and Sweden. This European relocation broadened their perspective and helped them craft albums such as *To Reap Heavens Apart* and the critically acclaimed *Doom Decimation* (2017), released on High Roller Records. Their music reflects both their Chilean roots and the broader doom scene, channeling influences like Candlemass while maintaining a raw, unpretentious energy driven by a genuine passion for heavy music.

Procession’s story is also marked by overcoming political and cultural challenges related to Chile’s past under Pinochet’s dictatorship, which colors their creative outlook. Felipe Plaza, a multi-instrumentalist and the band's driving force, has remained prolific, even collaborating with artists from the black/thrash metal scene while keeping Procession active. The band's sound is noted for its memorable and catchy songwriting that combines epic doom's grandeur with classic metal's intensity, making them a standout in the modern doom metal scene.
