Neuber Uchôa

Neuber Uchôa is a renowned musician from Roraima, Brazil, born in 1959 in Boa Vista, the capital of the state. He began singing at the tender age of three and started playing the guitar at thirteen. Uchôa became serious about composition around eighteen years old. In 1984, he joined forces with Zeca Preto and Eliakin Rufino, marking the inception of the Movimento Roraimeira, a significant cultural movement that celebrated regional identity through music. This movement blended indigenous, Caribean, and Brazilian roots music, contributing to the rich musical heritage of Roraima. Neuber Uchôa has released several albums, including "Muito Prazer", "Eu Preciso Aprender a Ser Pop", "Damurida", "Fronteiras", and "Sempre". His contributions to the musical landscape of Roraima have been substantial, and he is considered a living treasure of the region's music.
