YUNA

Yuna, whose full name is Yunalis binti Mat Zara'ai, is a Malaysian singer-songwriter known for her smooth voice and a sound that seamlessly blends contemporary R&B with acoustic folk and soulful pop. Born on November 14, 1986, in Alor Setar, Kedah, she started writing songs at the age of 14 and learned to play the guitar by 19. Yuna's rise to fame began when her music found an audience on Myspace in the late 2000s, leading to her debut self-titled EP in Malaysia in 2008.

While her initial success was local, Yuna gained international recognition when she signed with the FADER Label in the US and released her self-titled EP in 2011, which included the viral hit "Lullabies." Her music has continued to evolve and gain acclaim with her soothing, melodic voice and introspective lyrics that often touch on themes of love, personal growth, and empowerment. As of the early 2020s, Yuna has released multiple full-length albums, worked with high-profile artists—such as Usher on her breakout single "Crush"—and has been nominated for various awards, solidifying her place as a distinctive artist on the global music stage. Her recent releases like "Tell Me Why" and "Fantasy" showcase her ongoing commitment to creating heartfelt and engaging music that resonates with a wide audience.
