Japan was a British new wave band formed in 1974. They were known for their experimental and eclectic sound, which incorporated elements of glam rock, art rock, and electronic music. The band's most successful album was "Quiet Life" (1981), which reached number 3 on the UK charts and spawned the hit singles "Quiet Life" and "I Second That Emotion." Japan disbanded in 1982, but their music continues to be influential and respected today.
