Tony! Toni! Toné!

Tony! Toni! Toné! emerged from Oakland, California, in the mid-1980s as a prominent R&B group that blended soulful harmonies with elements of funk, soul, and hip-hop. The group was composed of brothers D'Wayne Wiggins on lead vocals and guitar, Raphael Saadiq (born Charles Ray Wiggins) on lead vocals and bass, and their cousin Timothy Christian Riley on drums and keyboards. They achieved widespread acclaim and commercial success with a string of hits in the late '80s and '90s that helped define the new jack swing era.

Their debut album "Who?" in 1988 garnered attention, but it was the follow-up, "The Revival" (1990), which truly catapulted them to fame, yielding hits like "Feels Good," "It Never Rains (In Southern California)," and the soulful "Whatever You Want." The group continued to evolve with albums like "Sons of Soul" (1993) and "House of Music" (1996), which showcased their musical versatility and deep appreciation for traditional R&B while also exploring new sounds. Despite undergoing lineup changes and embarking on solo projects in later years, Tony! Toni! Toné! left an indelible mark on music with their innovative blend of rhythms and harmonies, influencing a generation of artists and fans alike.
