Lynn Ahrens
Lynn Ahrens is a celebrated American lyricist and librettist best known for her longtime collaboration with composer Stephen Flaherty. The duo has created some of musical theatre’s most beloved works, including the Broadway hits Ragtime, Once on This Island, Seussical, and Anastasia. Ahrens’s lyrics are known for their emotional depth and storytelling power, and her work has earned her Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards, as well as nominations for Academy and Golden Globe Awards.
Before making her mark on Broadway, Ahrens got her start writing songs for the popular educational show Schoolhouse Rock! Her versatility and knack for writing across genres have made her a standout force in American musical theatre, with a career that continues to inspire generations of songwriters and performers.
