Seasons in Black

Seasons in Black is a German metal band formed in 1996 deep in the Bavarian Forest. Originally starting out as a black/death metal project, they evolved over nearly three decades to develop a unique sound they call "Doomcore" — a powerful blend of gothic, hardcore, groove, doom, and heavy metal elements. The band features a stable lineup for over 15 years with frontman Lucki Maurer, who is also known as a TV chef and author, alongside guitarist Roman Adam, keyboardist Markus Neumeier, drummer Harald Hemauer, and since 2021, lead guitarist Leon Hanff.

They released their debut album *Deadtime Stories* in 2005, reflecting a gothic metal style, followed by *The Swansong Diearies* in 2013, which leaned more into death and black metal influences. After a pause, Seasons in Black came back strong with their third album *Anthropocene* in 2025, which reached the German charts and featured guest artists like Michael Rhein (In Extremo) and Michelle Darkness (End of Green). Known for their intense live performances and deeply atmospheric music, Seasons in Black continue to push their metal boundaries while staying rooted in their metal origins.
