Elektra Women's Choir

Elektra Women's Choir is an esteemed ensemble hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, renowned for their radiant sound and adventurous programming. Formed in 1987, the choir has become one of Canada's foremost women's vocal ensembles, under the visionary leadership of co-founders Morna Edmundson and Diane Loomer, C.M. (until her passing in 2012). Loomer's legacy is now carried forward by Edmundson as Artistic Director, who continues to guide the choir with a commitment to excellence and innovation in the performance of women's choral repertoire.

Elektra Women's Choir is celebrated for its ability to communicate with a compelling clarity that has engaged audiences locally and internationally. Their discography showcases the versatility and prowess of their voices with recent releases that span a wealth of genres, including holiday favorites on "Chez Nous: Christmas with Elektra," contemporary classical pieces in "Still" and "Sacred Places," and the poignant reflection of life's journey in "The Circle Game." These recordings are but a glimpse into the vast emotional range and technical skill that have become the choir's trademarks, garnering them accolades and a devoted following. Their mission extends beyond performance, as they also strive to inspire and educate through community outreach and support for the creation of new choral works.
