Born Ruffians

Born Ruffians are an indie rock band from Midland, Ontario, Canada, known for their energetic sound that intertwines catchy melodies with spirited guitar lines. The band originally formed in 2004 and consists of core members Luke Lalonde (guitar/vocals), Mitch DeRosier (bass), and Steve Hamelin (drums), with Andy Lloyd (guitar/keyboard) joining later on. They quickly made a name for themselves with their vibrant live performances and their debut album "Red, Yellow & Blue" released in 2008, which received critical acclaim and helped establish their presence in the indie music scene.

Their musical journey has been marked by a steady output of records that showcase their evolving sound. In recent years, Born Ruffians have continued to explore and expand their musical palette, as evident in their latest releases. Albums like "JUICE," "SQUEEZE," and "PULP," released in rapid succession between 2020 and 2021, reflect a period of prolific creativity for the band. These records carry the band's signature blend of indie rock with nods to post-punk and pop elements, all while tackling themes such as adulthood, nostalgia, and the complexities of contemporary life. Simultaneously whimsical and introspective, Born Ruffians' recent work solidifies their status as mainstays in the indie rock genre, continuing to charm both old fans and new listeners with their infectious energy and thoughtful lyricism.
