Chiskop was a pioneering South African kwaito group formed in the late 1980s. The original lineup consisted of Simphiwe "General" Sibisi, Mduduzi "Mandoza" Tshabalala, Sizwe "Lollipop" Motaung, and Sibusiso "SB-Bless" Thenjekwayo. They were instrumental in shaping the kwaito genre, a blend of house music, hip-hop, and traditional African sounds. Chiskop gained popularity in the 1990s with hit songs like "Klaimer," "Abasazi," and "Abantwana".
The group released several albums, including "Akusheshi" and "Relax". After achieving success together, Mandoza embarked on a solo career that brought him widespread fame. Tragically, the group lost members over the years, with Mandoza passing away in 2016 and Simphiwe "General" Sibisi, the last surviving member, dying in 2024 after battling stomach cancer.
