Timon Altwegg is a renowned Swiss classical pianist, celebrated for his interpretations of chamber music and solo performances across Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. Born on May 18, 1967, in Münsterlingen, Altwegg began his musical journey studying with Hubert Mahler and later earned a diploma in musical education in Zurich. He furthered his studies at the Royal College of Music in London with Alan Rowlands, graduating with a Piano Performing Diploma in 1992. Altwegg is particularly noted for his performances of neglected composers, including Jewish and British works. His recordings include collaborations with his wife, violist Hana Gubenko, and a focus on composers like Freda Swain.
Recent releases by Altwegg feature works such as *Swain: Piano Works, Vol. 1*, *Rivier: Concerto Brève - Casadesus: Capriccio, Op. 49 - Wiener: Concerto No. 1 'Franco Americain' - Castérède: Concerto for piano and string orchestra*, and *Huber: Phantasie Op. 17, Sonata No. 5 & 6*.
