Monsters of Folk is an American folk supergroup formed in 2004. The band consists of Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley), and M. Ward (She & Him). The band's music is characterized by its acoustic instrumentation, intricate harmonies, and introspective lyrics. Monsters of Folk released their self-titled debut album in 2009, which was met with critical acclaim. The band has since released two more albums, "Heigh Ho" (2010) and "Monsters of Folk (Deluxe Edition)" (2011).
