In Aphelion

In Aphelion is a Swedish black/death metal band formed in 2020 by Sebastian Ramstedt, who is best known as the longtime guitarist of Necrophobic. Ramstedt handles vocals, guitar, and bass for In Aphelion, while the lineup also includes drummer Marco Prij and fellow Necrophobic guitarist Johan Bergebäck. The band emerged as a creative outlet for Ramstedt's more progressive and aggressive ideas, blending ferocious black metal with melodic and frozen atmospheric elements that set them apart from their other projects.

Since their debut demo in 2021, limited to just 50 copies, In Aphelion quickly garnered attention and signed with Edged Circle, releasing the EP *Luciferian Age* and their full-length album *Moribund* in 2022. Their sound features tight guitar work rooted in Necrophobic’s style but with a distinct savage intensity and majestic melodies, as showcased in their recent releases like *Reaperdawn* and singles such as "When All Stellar Light Is Lost." The chemistry between Ramstedt and Bergebäck on guitars and the band's black metal vocals make In Aphelion a powerful force in the melodic black/death metal scene today.
