Linnea Jonsson

Linnea Jonsson is a Swedish jazz trumpeter known for her expressive and lyrical tone on the Nordic jazz scene. Born and raised in Västerås, she began playing trumpet at the age of eight and developed a love for improvisational music during her early teens. After graduating from the Academy of Music in Stockholm in 2021, she quickly established herself as a prominent figure in contemporary jazz, leading her own band, Linnea Jonsson Group, and collaborating with pianist Niklas Bergström. Her debut album, *Fragments of Spring* (2022), showcases her melodic style infused with Scandinavian jazz influences.

Jonsson's sound is characterized by its warmth and meditative qualities, drawing comparisons to greats like Kenny Wheeler. She released *Hive Mind* with her group, featuring notable musicians such as pianist Lars Jansson. She has been recognized with cultural and jazz awards in Sweden, including Västerås city's cultural scholarship and the Björn J:son Lindh scholarship. In 2025, she was selected to represent Sweden in the EBU Euroradio Jazz Orchestra. Her music often blends Nordic introspection with dynamic energy, capturing moods with heartfelt humility and a distinctive tonal palette.
