Shingirayi

Shingirayi, formerly known as Mau Mau, is a Zimbabwean artist who has been active in the music industry since the late 1990s. Born Shingirayi Sabeta, he began his career under the name Mau Mau, pioneering hip-hop in Zimbabwe with songs like "Chi Chinonzi Mau Mau" and "Blackness." His music often reflects themes of struggles, dreams, and black pride. As Shingirayi, he transitioned to Christian hip-hop, releasing notable singles such as "Ndamutswa" and "Ndingatyei," which gained significant recognition. He also released the album "Born Again" in December 2015, which was well-received by fans and critics alike.

Shingirayi is not only a musician but also a writer, producer, and DJ. He is a believer of Jesus Christ, which has influenced his shift towards Christian hip-hop. His music career has been marked by collaborations with other prominent artists, and he has won several awards for his work, including Best Collaboration and Best Remix at the Zimbabwean Hip Hop Awards and Christian Hip Hop Awards, respectively.
