Porca Véia, whose real name was Élio da Rosa Xavier, was a renowned Brazilian musician from Rio Grande do Sul. Born on March 2, 1952, in Lagoa Vermelha, he was a talented singer, composer, accordionist, and gaiteiro. His artistic career began at a young age, influenced by his family's musical background. Porca Véia gained significant recognition for his skills, winning nineteen out of twenty gaiteiro competitions he participated in and earning two Gold Disc awards. He was also the founder and director of the musical group Cordiona, known for its fandangueiro style. During his career, he released 21 CDs and three DVDs. Porca Véia announced his retirement in 2013, concluding his career with a grand show in Caxias do Sul. He passed away on June 12, 2020, at the age of 68, in Novo Hamburgo.
