Starlight Ritual

Starlight Ritual is a heavy metal band hailing from Montréal, Québec, formed in 2013 by guitarists J.F. Bertrand and Dan Toupin. Originally started as a doom/psychedelic project with instrumental compositions, the band evolved significantly after vocalist Damian Ritual joined in 2014. Their sound blends classic heavy metal influences reminiscent of the late '70s and '80s, drawing inspiration from bands like Motörhead, Rainbow, and Judas Priest, with a powerful vocal style that fans of Ronnie James Dio and Ian Gillan appreciate. The lineup also includes bassist Mat Forge and drummer Louis Lecomte (Lou Weed), creating a tight, dynamic group known for epic, melodic metal.

Over the years, Starlight Ritual has released several records, starting with their self-titled EP in 2015 and the *Age of the Universe* EP in 2016, before delivering their first full-length album, *Sealed in Starlight*, in 2021. Their most recent album, *Rogue Angels*, released in October 2025 on High Roller Records, showcases their mature sound, with songwriting chiefly by Dan Toupin and contributions by J.F. Bertrand, while Damian Ritual handles vocals and bass. The band records in their own Montréal studio, reinforcing their independent and authentic vibe.
