B-Movie

B-Movie is a British new wave band, originally hailing from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and formed in the late 1970s. They are known for their distinctive synth-led sound and post-punk roots, which found them rubbing shoulders with some of the era's most influential new wave acts. B-Movie made their mark with the 1982 single "Nowhere Girl," which became a cult classic in the alternative music scene. The song captured the zeitgeist of the era's synthpop movement and has since been re-recorded and remixed, a testament to its lasting appeal.

The band, consisting of members Steve Hovington (vocals), Paul Statham (guitars), Rick Holliday (keyboards), and Graham Boffey (drums), split in the mid-1980s but reformed in the early 2000s, adding nostalgia to the post-punk revival occurring at the time. Since their reunion, they have continued to release new material that resonates with their original sound while exploring fresh lyrical and musical landscapes. With releases like "Melt," "Love is Dead," and "Brighton Beach," B-Movie has maintained their relevance and appeal to both original fans and new listeners who appreciate the classic new wave aesthetic. Their work continues to be remixed and reinvented, with tracks like "Promenade" and "Repetition" receiving various remix treatments, showcasing the band's enduring influence on the electronic and alternative music scenes.
