Arab Trap

Arab trap is a subgenre of trap music that merges the traditional rhythms and melodic elements of Arabic music with the hard-hitting bass and high-hat-centric beats typical of Western trap. This genre often incorporates distinctive Arabic instruments such as the oud, qanun, ney, and various percussion elements, blending them with synthesized sounds and samples to create a rich, cross-cultural soundscape. The melodies are characterized by their use of the maqam system, which provides the music with a distinct modal framework that resonates with the characteristic quarter tones of Middle Eastern music. Vocals, when present, may include both Arabic and English, often auto-tuned or delivered with a rhythmic cadence in line with trap's signature style.
