Balkan Post-punk

Balkan post-punk emerged in the late '70s and '80s as an Eastern European reinterpretation of the post-punk ethos, interlacing angsty, rebellious energy with the cultural and political undercurrents unique to the region. This music genre often showcases a melancholic yet defiant soundscape, marked by a combination of jagged guitar riffs, brooding basslines, and a mix of disaffected and impassioned vocals.
