Flashcore

Flashcore is a highly experimental and ostensibly frenetic subgenre of electronic music that pushes the boundaries of tempo, sound design, and rhythm complexity. Hallmarks of the genre include breakneck speeds exceeding traditional drum and bass, intricate programming, and a barrage of glitched-out, abstract, and often dissonant sonic textures. It draws upon elements of IDM, noise, and breakcore, creating an intense, cerebral listening experience that is as much about exploring the outer limits of digital sound manipulation as it is about the relentless drive of percussion. The high level of technical skill displayed by artists such as Datach'i and Xanopticon pairs with a creative disregard for conventional music structures, resulting in tracks that are as much a technical showcase as they are an avant-garde assault on the senses.
