Flashcore is a highly experimental and ostensibly frenetic subgenre of electronic music that pushes the boundaries of tempo, sound design, and rhythm complexity. Hallmarks of the genre include breakneck speeds exceeding traditional drum and bass, intricate programming, and a barrage of glitched-out, abstract, and often dissonant sonic textures. It draws upon elements of IDM, noise, and breakcore, creating an intense, cerebral listening experience that is as much about exploring the outer limits of digital sound manipulation as it is about the relentless drive of percussion.
