Future house is a subgenre of electronic dance music characterized by its upbeat, energetic sound, often featuring bright, pulsing synthesizers, catchy melodies, and deep, driving basslines. Emerging in the mid-2010s, particularly in the Netherlands, future house evolved from deep house and tropical house, incorporating elements of indie dance and nu-disco. Its popularity peaked around 2015-2018, with festivals and clubs embracing its infectious, dancefloor-friendly vibes. Future house reflects the genre's futuristic and innovative approach, often blending nostalgic and modern elements. Notable for its use of filtered vocal samples, catchy hooks, and a blend of organic and electronic instrumentation, future house sets itself apart from other EDM styles with its unique blend of depth and accessibility, making it a staple in modern electronic music.
