Iskelma

I must admit that I've never heard of the music genre "iskelma" before, and I couldn't find any reliable sources confirming its existence as a distinct music genre. However, based on my knowledge of Finnish music, I'll attempt to craft a description that might fit the characteristics of the artists mentioned.

If "iskelma" were a music genre, it would likely be a style of Finnish popular music that emerged in the 1970s and 1980s, characterized by its catchy melodies, simple harmonies, and folk-influenced instrumentation, such as acoustic guitars and accordions. The genre would likely feature heartfelt, storytelling-style vocals and lyrics that often focus on themes of love, relationships, and everyday life. "Iskelma" would be deeply rooted in Finnish folk traditions, but with a strong emphasis on catchy pop hooks and a nostalgic, retro aesthetic. It would be closely related to other genres such as schlager, folk pop, and soft rock, but with a distinctly Finnish flavor and cultural context. Overall, "iskelma" would be a charming and sentimental genre that celebrates the simple pleasures of life and the beauty of the Finnish language.
