Japanese Celtic

Japanese Celtic is a cross-cultural folk style where Irish and Scottish dance tunes, ballads, and pub-session energy are filtered through Japanese musicianship and pop-savvy arranging. It centers on jigs, reels, and hornpipes led by fiddle, tin whistle, flute, accordion, bouzouki, mandolin, guitar, and bodhrán, often paired with crisp rhythms, tight ensemble playing, and bright, melodic hooks. The genre ranges from faithful trad sets to hybrid takes that add rock drive, dub-leaning grooves, or contemporary instrumental textures, while keeping the lift and swing of Celtic music. Live, it tends to feel communal and high-spirited—like a session transported to Tokyo.
