Mashup

Mashup music is a genre characterized by the creative combination of two or more pre-existing songs, often from different styles and eras, to produce a new, distinctive sound. Typically, mashups involve the juxtaposition of contrasting melodies, rhythms, and vocal styles, frequently incorporating elements of hip-hop, electronic dance music (EDM), and pop. Emerging in the early 2000s, mashup gained popularity through online communities and underground parties.
