Melodic house is a subgenre of house music characterized by its euphoric, atmospheric soundscapes and emotive melodies. Emerging in the 2010s, it draws from the deeper, more introspective aspects of deep house and progressive house, often incorporating elements of techno, ambient, and indie dance music. Typically featuring lush synthesizers, pulsing basslines, and driving rhythms, melodic house tracks often build towards soaring, anthemic climaxes. Vocal styles range from gentle, whispered phrases to more energetic, soulful deliveries. Associated with the underground club scene, melodic house gained popularity in the mid-2010s, particularly in Europe, and has since become a staple of the global electronic music landscape. Its dreamy, escapist quality has captivated audiences, setting it apart from more minimal or functional house styles. By blending introspective moods with infectious energy, melodic house has created a distinct niche within the broader house music spectrum.
