Mincecore

Mincecore is a subgenre of grindcore that hews closely to the raw, DIY ethos and sonic brutality of its parent genre while distinguishing itself through its often shorter, more simplistic song structures and an ideological focus on anti-commercialism, socio-political commentary, and a generally non-serious, sometimes humoristic approach. Bands like Agathocles, credited with coining the term "mincecore," lean into an abrasive, lo-fi sound characterized by frenzied, blast beat-driven drumming, guttural vocals, and grinding, distorted guitars, often delivered in brief, explosive bursts of noise. The aesthetic of mincecore is resolutely underground, shunning the polished production of mainstream music for a gritty authenticity that resonates with its adherents through themes of grindcore ethos, outspoken political stances, and a communal, back-to-basics mentality.
