Pop Emo

Pop emo is a genre that emerged in the early 2000s, characterized by its fusion of punk's energetic rhythms and emo's emotive intensity with catchy, pop-infused melodies and hooks. Typically featuring driving guitar riffs, pounding drums, and soaring vocal performances, pop emo often focuses on themes of teenage angst, relationships, and self-discovery. Born out of the early 2000s emo scene, the genre gained mainstream popularity in the mid to late 2000s, with its peak era spanning from 2005 to 2010.
