Ragga

Ragga, short for "raggamuffin," is a subgenre of dancehall music that emerged in the 1980s in Jamaica. It is characterized by its fusion of reggae rhythms with electronic beats and a heavy reliance on digital instrumentation. Ragga vocals often include rapid-fire toasting or rapping and are typically performed in a raw, energetic style. The genre is known for its reflection of urban street culture and often addresses social and political themes. Artists like Soom T and Filip Motovunski incorporate diverse influences, melding elements of hip-hop, dub, and jungle into their music, creating vibrant, bass-driven tracks that resonate with audiences worldwide.
