Raï is a vibrant and eclectic music genre originating from Algeria that blends traditional Maghreb sounds with Western influences, featuring both melancholic melodies and upbeat rhythms. It emerged from the port city of Oran and has deep roots in Bedouin desert music, infusing elements of Spanish, French, Arabic, and African musical styles.
