Rave music emerged in the late 1980s and peaked in popularity in the 1990s, characterized by fast-paced, energetic rhythms (often between 120-150 BPM), heavy use of synthesized leads, and prominent basslines. Born from the UK's acid house and techno scenes, rave music emphasized a collective, hedonistic experience, often featuring distorted, filtered vocals and simplistic, catchy melodies.
