Swedish Drill

Swedish drill is a sub-genre of the broader drill music scene, originally rooted in Chicago's rap culture, but it finds its unique identity in the suburbs of Stockholm where many artists with immigrant backgrounds have used it to voice their experiences and struggles. It incorporates aggressive, dark, and gritty beats with a foreboding sense of melody, overlaid by rappers delivering their lyrics in a mix of Swedish and sometimes a slang-heavy patois.
