BNK48

BNK48 is a Thai idol girl group formed in 2017 as the Thai sister group of Japan’s massively popular AKB48. Based in Bangkok, the group's name combines "Bangkok" and the "48" franchise label. Just like their Japanese counterparts, BNK48 follows the "idols you can meet" concept, with multiple team members performing regularly at their own theater and participating in music releases, live concerts, fan events, and TV appearances.

BNK48 quickly rose to fame in Thailand with catchy Thai-language covers of AKB48 hits, including signature songs like “Koisuru Fortune Cookie” and “Shonichi.” The group has become a cultural phenomenon in the Thai entertainment scene, admired for their energetic performances, dedicated fan engagement, and ever-evolving lineup through annual auditions and graduations. Through their music and variety content, BNK48 has helped introduce J-pop idol culture to a wider Thai audience while developing a distinct identity of their own.
