Steve Hogarth is best known as the lead vocalist and frontman of the British rock band Marillion, a role he’s held since 1989. Before joining Marillion, he played in bands like The Europeans and How We Live, but it was with Marillion that he achieved wider recognition. His distinctive voice and emotive performance style helped the band transition from their early neo-prog roots into more atmospheric and experimental territories, beginning with the critically acclaimed album Seasons End.
Outside of Marillion, Hogarth also performs solo under the name “h” or “H Natural,” showcasing a more intimate side of his artistry—often just voice and piano. These performances highlight his talent as a storyteller and interpreter, covering a mix of his own material as well as unique takes on songs by other artists. In addition to his solo work, he's collaborated with other musicians, including projects like Colours Not Found in Nature. With his introspective lyrics and expressive delivery, Hogarth remains a compelling figure in the world of progressive and art rock.
